GRADUATION
At the end of each semester, the Lone Star College System awards diplomas to students who complete their degree/certificate requirements. We encourage all students to apply for graduation whether your goal is to transfer or to complete one of our academic programs.
A commencement program is held each May to celebrate and recognize the students who have completed their degree or certificate requirements for that academic year (Fall/Spring/Summer). Participation in the commencement ceremony is voluntary.
Graduation Orientation 2008
LSC-Montgomery will hold a Graduation Orientation for all graduating students on April 25, 2008, from 2-4 PM in Building D. Graduation
LSC-Montgomery will hold its (graduation) ceremony on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 6 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. Details will be available soon!
Nursing Pinning Ceremonies
Vocational Nursing:
May 7, 2008 at 5 p.m. in the theatre (building D). Reception to follow in building A.
Associate Degree Nursing:
May 8, 2008 at 5 p.m. at Conroe First Assembly Church, 3993 I-45 North, Conroe.

GED Graduation
Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. in the theatre (building D). Reception to follow in the Commons (building A).
PTA Graduation (Physical Therapist Assistant Program)
The Lone Star College-Montgomery Physical Therapist Assistant program will hold its 2008 graduation celebration ceremony on Friday, May 9, at 2pm in the theater (building D). For more information, contact Kathy Johanson at 936.273.7360.
2006-07 CEREMONY
LSC-Montgomery held its own commencement (graduation) ceremony beginning with the 2006-07 academic year.
Cap & Gown
Graduates participating in the commencement ceremony must purchase a cap and gown from the LSC-Montgomery bookstore before May 9th. For your convenience, commencement invitations may also be purchased at the bookstore for $12.95 per package (10 invitations per package). You may also choose to use other outside vendors for your commencement invitations. To purchase online, please visit the college bookstore.
PTK Stoles
Graduates who are members of Phi Theta Kappa should access the website: http://www.ptk.org/recognitions/catalog/08/graduation to order graduation regalia. Available items include stole, cords, key medallion, and tassel. Please note however that only the stole and cord are permitted at the commencement ceremony. Dress
Participants and guests should dress comfortable and cool. Men are encouraged to wear dark slacks, light colored shirts and dark shoes and socks. Women are encouraged to wear cool, street-length dresses and low heel dark shoes.
Proper Regalia
The academic processional and the regalia worn by graduates are part of the dignified tradition of commencement. Each graduate will receive the appropriate robe, cap and stole to recognize the academic achievements and special honors earned by the graduate. Students are encouraged to keep in mind and to honor the rich history of tradition and significance represented by the ceremony and the regalia.
The appropriate way to wear the mortarboard is flat on top of the head (not off to the side or fixed to the back of the head by pins) and students are requested to wear the regalia as issued.
Purses/Handbags
Graduates will not be allowed to bring any purses or handbags into the commencement ceremony. Therefore, it recommended that students leave their valuable with family members to be collected after the ceremony.
LSC-Montgomery and the Woodlands Waterway Marriott & Convention Center will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced items.
Pictures
Graduates will have the opportunity to have to their pictures taken by a professional photographer at the ceremony. Students and their families will have the opportunity to purchase the photographs, and the photographer’s information will be available at the graduation orientation.
Diploma
All commencement participants will receive a commemorative diploma cover during the ceremony. Please note that Diplomas will be mailed from our District office after requirements are certified. Mailing occurs after July 15th.

Logistics
Graduates will need to arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to the Woodlands Waterway Marriott & Convention Center. LSC-Montgomery representatives will be there to greet graduates and their families, and will direct them to the designated areas. Directions will follow for line-up and processional readiness. Please note that graduates arriving at the ceremony later than requested may not be eligible to walk in the ceremony.
