Administrative Office Assistant

Prepares students to enter the workplace in entry-level support personnel positions in an office environment. Students are introduced to computer applications used in the workplace along with basic clerical skills such as keyboarding, filing, and telephone etiquette. Alternate Teacher Certification Program

Lone Star College-Montgomery offers a teacher certification program that is approved by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification. This is a rigorous training program that leads to Texas Teacher certification in 18-24 months.

AutoCAD

The AutoCAD program is designed to enhance computer-aided drafting skills and to prepare students for a professional office environment.

Certified Nurse Aide, CNA Certified Nurse Aides, CNAs provide basic care to persons in long term health care facilities. Upon completion of the course, students will be scheduled to take the state CNA exam (additional charge of $76). Students wishing to enroll must have a current, valid photo identification, social security card and have completed their Hepatitis B vaccination series prior to being allowed into the clinical portion of the course.

Students will be required to register in the following three sections:

  • Certified Nurse Aide
  • Testing
  • Insurance

Data Cabling/ Fiber Optics

This is entry level and technician level training in the EIA/TIA standards for installing and terminating
low voltage multi strand and coaxial cable used in data transfer systems. For more information contact cce@lonestar.edu

Document Production

Prepares students to enter the workplace in entry-level document production position. Students will focus on keyboarding speed and accuracy along with preparing standard business documents. Popular word processing software is used to develop skills for fast-paced document production.

Insurance Adjustor
Lone Star College-Montgomery is now one of only 20 public certified adjuster pre-license providers with classes open to the public sanctioned by the Texas Department of Insurance, the state insurance regulating and licensing agency. Our insurance pre-licensing course has been approved by the Texas Department of Insurance.

Medical Coding/Billing

Prepares students to enter the medical coding field in an entry-level position by introducing them to medical terminology, medical coding and billing. Students will also develop skills to work in an office environment.

Medical Office Assistant

Prepares students for an entry-level medical secretarial position. Students learn medical terminology, medical office procedures, insurance, billing, and customer service skills.

Office Accounting

Prepares students to work with standard accounting procedures in an office environment and computer software for professional bookkeeping. Students learn basic office accounting principles and work with popular software used for keeping office records and financial records.
Paralegal

This series of six online courses and the certificate of completion that Lone Star College-Montgomery provides will prepare the student in obtaining a position as a paralegal.

Project Management

Increases skills and competencies in project management. Students learn about basic project management techniques, project software, statistics, change management, processes, estimating. Project planning, control and data analysis tools.

Welding
Curriculum is based on American Welding Society standards and definitions using the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology program.
